Applications are invited for the position of Chair of the Circulation Foundation for the Vascular Society.

Applications are invited for the position of Chair of the Circulation Foundation for the Vascular Society. All current members of the Society, who are in active NHS practice (or equivalent active vascular surgery posts in Ireland), are eligible to apply. Although the CF remains a function of the Vascular Society, we are delighted that there is a partnership agreement that ensure the CF also represents the CSCVS, Rouleaux Club and SVN.

Applicants will be assessed on their commitment to the CF, their ideas and experience of charity fundraising, as well as, potentially, their past involvement with the Vascular Society.

The Shadow period starts from the close of the ASM 2024 (1 year).

As Chair you will be expected to lead and develop all aspects of the CF work, chair the Circulation Foundation committee meetings, and attend the VS executive and council. Specifically, Vascular Society Committee meetings typically take place four times each year (Feb, May, Sept and Nov).

The term of office (three years) as Committee Chair will commence at the close of the ASM 2025 (November 2025) and cease at the close of ASM 2028 (November 2028).  As Committee Chair, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Terms of Reference (TOR) of the Circulation Foundation Committee are followed and you drive the CF to evolve the TOR for this Committee.

Look HERE to view the TOR.

Candidates must declare in advance of interview any form of sanction, suspension or disciplinary censure that has impacted their good standing to the Honorary Secretary. Sharing of this disclosed information will be limited to that which is relevant to the issue and will only be with those within the Society who have a legitimate need to know to determine if appointment as a Council Member of the Vascular Society is appropriate.

It is important that you speak with your clinical director /medical director to ensure that you can be released for these commitments.

Applicants should send a letter outlining reasons for applying for this Committee Chair and a short CV to info@circulationfoundation.org.uk by 5.00 p.m. on Friday 6th September. You will receive email confirmation of receipt. If this is not received, contact the office as late applications will not be considered.

Interviews for this position will be held remotely on Friday 20th September, where applicants will be asked to deliver a short presentation.
