This a new comprehensive course designed for vascular surgeons who wish to increase their confidence and knowlege of access for dialysis.

Learning Objectives 

By the end, participants should be able to:

• Select the optimal dialysis access (fistula vs graft vs catheter vs PD)
• Perform, understand or troubleshoot:
  • AV fistula creation (simulation-based)
  • Use ultrasound for pre-op vein mapping
  • Approaches to endovascular vascular access salvage
  • Peritoneal dialysis

Recognize and manage:

• Fistula failure / non-maturation
• Infection
• Steal syndrome
