This a new comprehensive course designed for vascular surgeons who wish to increase their confidence and knowlege of access for dialysis.
Learning Objectives
By the end, participants should be able to:
- Select the optimal dialysis access (fistula vs graft vs catheter vs PD)
- Perform, understand or troubleshoot:
- AV fistula creation (simulation-based)
- Use ultrasound for pre-op vein mapping
- Approaches to endovascular vascular access salvage
- Peritoneal dialysis
Recognize and manage:
- Fistula failure / non-maturation
- Infection
- Steal syndrome

Delegate Terms and Conditions
1. The course is free to attend, and places can be secured using a deposit of £100 payable on registration.
2. Deposits will be refunded on attendance, and will be received within one week following the event.
3. Cancellations will be accepted four weeks’ prior to the event, and must be in writing to: kajisritharan@yahoo.co.uk and asm@vascularsociety.org.uk.
4. If registrants do not cancel four weeks’ prior to the event, or fail to attend, the deposit will not be refunded.
