This formal, in-person training session is delivered by a professional mentoring trainer on behalf of the national ENT UK mentoring scheme. The course is designed to explore the nature of mentoring relationships and equip participants with a practical mentoring toolkit. Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Reflect on their experience as a mentor and recognize mentoring from other forms of support
• Examine key similarities and differences between clinical expertise and mentoring skills
• Experience the impact of listening versus hearing in mentoring conversations
• Identify factors that influence support and challenge in mentoring practice
• Recognise the value of emotional intelligence in mentoring meetings
• Consider factors that shape mentoring conversations and relationships
• Undertake a mentoring session as a mentee, mentor, and observer

This course is ideal for those currently involved in mentoring or considering a mentoring role.
