Changes to the National Tariff for Vascular Surgery
19 February 2017
Mr Arun Pherwani and Mr Paul Tisi from the Vascular CRG summarise the proposed changes to the Narional Vascular Tariff from April 2017. These will influence the funding received for Vascular Practice and it is important members should be aware of the implications of these changes. As always, work with your managers to ensure coding of procedures, co-morbidities, and complications are correct in order to achieve the correct tariff for the work you do. Note upcoming changes to remuneration for clinic episodes, new and follow up.
Expensive items such as stent grafts continue to be re-imbursed. However the procurement of these may be subject to national procurement in the future rather than the current local arrangements. Work on this is on-going, no firm proposals for this yet.
